You can give an international student a place to call home by becoming a host family.
The Huron-Perth Catholic District Board has announced they will again welcome international students to their schools this upcoming school year through their International Student Program.
The program aims to improve cultural diversity and offer local students the chance to engage in experiences that broaden their perspectives.
Director of Education Karen Tigani says this school year comes as they’ve seen growth in the International Education Program.
“For September 2025, students from Brazil, Spain and Japan have already been accepted and will be joining our school communities. We are also receiving new applications from students in these same countries as well as other areas.”
Tigani says as a result, the board is looking for more families from both counties to sign up and become a host family for these international students.
The board says by being a host family, you’ll be compensated while taking care of the student for either a semester or for the full 2025-2026 school year.
International students will be going to St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in Stratford or St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School in Clinton.
