Annual autism walk returns to Stratford next month

A leisurely stroll starting at a popular spot in the city can help people with autism spectrum disorder across the province.

Autism Ontario has announced its 17th annual Stratford Walk, a fundraiser for the organization’s west region, will take place Sept. 14 from 10 until 1 p.m.

Money will support programs, services, and engagement opportunities for autistic residents in the region, which includes Perth County.

The walk starts at Upper Queens Park Pavilion, with some food and fun afterwards.

“The picnic will feature delicious food, fun activities, and a silent auction with exciting items up for bid,” said Autism Ontario.

“Whether you participated in the walk or not, everyone is welcome to attend the picnic and contribute to our cause.”

They encourage families and community members to take part in this fundraiser by walking, volunteering, or donating.
