Stratford Police search warrant turns up 165 firearms in Perth South

A search warrant by Stratford police turned up 165 firearms including 65 restricted or prohibitive class handguns.

Police executed the warrant on Aug. 13 at a Perth South residence.

A large amount of ammunition, gunpowder, and gun parts were also seized.

Officers say the investigation led to the arrest of a 69-year-old man who lived in the residence.

He’s been charged with careless use of firearms, and was released on an undertaking.

He’s set to appear in court on Sept. 29.
