Youth Unlimited Mitchell getting set for a couple of big events

A golf tournament and a walk/run will offer the community a chance to participate and help raise some funds for programs through Youth Unlimited Mitchell.

Jesse Britton, Satellite Ministry Director, said both events were run before COVID but they are starting them up again to offer some fall activities for the community.

“Kind of a rebirth of both and we’ll see how it goes.”

Youth Unlimited YFC Mitchell is part of Youth for Christ, a worldwide Christian movement working with young people around the globe.

The 2.5K walk and 5K run are Sept. 13. The race starts at 10 a.m. The course will start at Lions Park in Mitchell. The 9-hole scramble golf tournament at Mitchell Golf and Country Club is Sept. 19 and includes a BBQ lunch and putting contest. Tee off is 2 p.m.

You can register for both at the YFC Mitchell website.

Britton said both events are fundraisers and participants are encouraged to ask friends and family for donations. You can also donate at the website if you can’t participate.

The organization holds several events throughout the year including a spring banquet and a chapter-wide bike-a-thon.

Funds will help YFC run free youth events in partnership with community organizations.
