Stratford Rotary Dragon Boat Festival is taking place right here in Stratford.
Festival organizers announced they have all the approvals needed to pump water from a gravel pit to the Avon River ahead of race day.
The aim is to make the water deep enough for the 40-plus teams to compete on Sept. 13.
The update comes following a month-long saga started by a big storm causing blockages at the Orr Dam, leading to the drainage of Lake Victoria.
The first race starts at 8 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies and food at 11 a.m., and live music at 1 p.m.
