Ongoing project to bring road closures and detours for O’Loane Avenue

Road closures and detours will be the norm as construction continues on O’Loane Avenue.

The City of Stratford announced that work related to the O’Loane Avenue Trunk Sanitary Sewer extension project is starting today, and will continue for four months.

The project, which started last August, looks to extend the trunk sewer from Riddell Drive across Huron Street to Galt Road. By doing this, the city hopes it improves service in the area and enables more development in the north sector.

The city said this work will need partial and full road closures, detours, and traffic signs for the area.

The stretch of O’Loane Avenue between Huron Street and Riddell Drive will be reduced to a single lane, with portable traffic signals managing two-way traffic.

The city said construction could be finished by next spring.
