Stratford General Hospital Foundation are offering residents bonus tickets for the September 50/50 draw as part of the one year anniversary of the return of the popular fundraiser.
The $20 package gets 50 extra tickets, while $40 gets you 100 tickets.
Funds buy medical equipment for Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance – Stratford General Hospital.
Winners get cash prizes.
The foundation said since last year, more than $46,000 has been raised towards a new point-of-care ultrasound for the alliance’s critical care unit.
Alliance Vice President, Partnerships, Transformation & Chief Nursing Executive, Lyanne Mason, said having access to the ultrasound gives them a powerful tool right at the bedside.
“This will directly enhance the care provided to some of our sickest patients and it would not have been possible without the generosity of our community through initiatives like the 50/50,” said Mason.
This type of ultrasound allows doctors and nurses to see inside the body in real time, helping them guide urgent procedures, monitor treatment, and make life-saving decisions within minutes.
The foundation added that in the coming year, they aim to raise $55,000, with all proceeds to help buy a Neoprobe Gamma Detection System.
The hope is that this system can help with surgical precision and patient outcomes for the surgery services team.
