Police say Bolton resident pretended to be a local employee to get into a home

A Bolton resident has been charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling after police said he impersonated being a Bick Heating and Cooling employee to get into a home.

Stratford police said the male, age 39, contacted residents of the home the previous night by phone and arranged a maintenance visit for their furnace.

The male was permitted into the residence on Thursday under the pretense that he worked for the company, however, the homeowner’s daughter contacted Bick Heating & Cooling after becoming aware that the male was in her parents’ home.

It was confirmed that he was not an employee and he was asked to leave.

The person is described as a black male, with short black hair, and a black beard. At the time, he was wearing a dark blue shirt and blue jeans. He arrived at the home in a rented, grey Nissan Sentra, with licence plate: CZEF163.

Anyone who encountered a similar incident are asked to contact Stratford police Const. Tom Lecomte at [email protected].
