GOJHL: Warriors pick up a point in OT home opener loss

Luka Boggio scored the winner in overtime as the Waterloo Siskins came away with a 4-3 overtime road win over Stratford Warriors Friday night at the Allman Arena.

Dominic Marshall and Max Wildfong of the Warriors scored third period markers to tie the GOJHL game at 3-3.

David Bodzai had the only goal of the first period for the visitors. Avery Hammer and Drake Neal scored in the second period for the Siskins, either side of Jonas Schmidt’s goal for the Warriors.

Brock Grein stopped 31 shots for the Siskins (2-0-2-0) while Connor Davis stopped a dozen shots in net for the Warriors (0-1-1-0), who picked up a point for the overtime loss.

Stratford are at Sarnia’s Pat Stapleton Arena on Thursday for a game against the Legionnaires (0-4) at 7:10 p.m.

Elsewhere over the weekend in the GOJHL, Chatham Maroons won a 5-2 decision Sunday on home ice over St. Marys Lincolns to improve to 5-0 on the junior B season.

Alexander Lisi and Jaxon Priddle scored twice to pace the Maroons. Dylan Richter added a single marker.

Jack Clarke and Lincoln Moore scored for the Lincolns (2-2).

Also Sunday, host Waterloo beat Listowel Cyclones 3-1. Nicholas Luxton, Jacob Middleton and Avery Hammar scored the Siskins.

Trent Houghton had the lone goal for the Cyclones (1-3).

On Friday night, LaSalle Vipers won at St. Marys 2-1. Ian Inskip and Kieran McNally scored for the Vipers (1-1-1) after Chase MacQueen-Spence opened the scoring for the Lincolns.

Also Friday, Listowel downed Sarnia 5-0 behind a hat trick from Jordan Visneskie. Tate Berfelz and Ryan Cranny added singles for the Cyclones.
