Young residents can apply for grants to address big Perth-Huron issues

If you’ve got an idea for how to address big issues in your community, apply for a grant.

United Way-Perth Huron has launched the Youth In Action Grants supporting projects run by youth ages 14 to 24, focused on addressing important issues affecting Perth and Huron communities.

Director of Community Impact and Research Kristin Crane said previous projects addressed issues ranging from mental health awareness to physical well-being.

We look forward to seeing the many creative ways young people choose to address important local issues among their peers,” said Crane.

To be eligible, the project needs to be planned and implemented by the age group, entrants must engage with local peers and have a local adult trustee over age 25.

The grants are up to $1,200, and you can apply until Oct. 20.
