New HEART display installed at Grand Trunk Railway site

The Grand Trunk site will be a little brighter with a HEART display instillation.

Destination Stratford said the display was installed at the railway site late last week, with a goal of showing a symbolic tribute to the heart of Stratford.

Corporate Initiatives Lead for the City of Stratford Emily Robson said animating the site was a clear direction from council and the ad hoc committee that is envisioning future uses for the site.

“The Heart is a beautiful example of this work in action,” said Robson.

“It invites residents to see the site differently, not just as a piece of our history, but as a space filled with possibility and potential.”

This display comes as part of an initiative called Heart Of Stratford, which invites residents to share reflections, memories and ideas to build a vision for the community’s heart.

The initiative includes another display at Stratford Public Library and several pop-up stations across the city.

Destination Stratford added the display at the Grand Trunk will have a rotating display of colours, and it will remain there until Oct. 17.

The display will then move to the bandshell on Veterans Drive ahead of the Lights On Stratford Festival.
