Falstaff Family Centre hosting National Day for Truth and Reconciliation events

Tuesday is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and residents can learn more about it and show support by attending local events.

The Falstaff Family Centre is hosting a couple of events, scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The first event will see a Sunrise Ceremony, followed by Grandmother Moon Teachings with Oneida First Nation elder Patsy Day from 7:30 a.m. to noon.

The centre said from noon to 6 p.m., you can check out the We Were So Far Away exhibit in the community room.

A Solidarity Walk will leave the FCC Tipi at 6 p.m., followed by a screening of the film Birth Of a Family at 7 p.m. in the community room.

A post screening story will be offered by knowledge carrier Christin Dennis Gzhiiquot or Fast Moving Cloud (Aamjiwnaang First Nation), himself a survivor.
