GOHL: Warriors cruise to comfortable win over Legionnaires

Lucas Minard scored a pair of goals to pace the Stratford Warriors to a 6-1 win over the Sarnia Legionnaires on Thursday night in a GOHL game at William Allman Memorial Arena.

Also scoring for the Warriors were Colin Slattery, Aaron Green, Quinn Kipfer and Jonas Schmidt, with his team-leading third goal of the season.

Rhyse Brown and Jack McGurn had two assists each.

Sarvir Jaworski had the lone goal against Warriors goalie Gage Hurst, who turned aside 30 shots. Andrew Gaulton had 46 saves for the Legionnaires.

Stratford (1-1-1) won their first game of the season and were coming off an overtime loss.

Sarnia (0-6) have yet to find a win.

Stratford host Komoka Kings (2-1) tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Elsewhere in the GOHL tonight, Listowel Cyclones (1-3) are at Port Colborne Sailors (2-2) at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the Cyclones host London Nationals (4-0) at 7:30 p.m. and St. Marys Lincolns (2-2) host the Sailors at 7:30 p.m.

The Lincolns travel to Elmira (3-1) on Sunday to take on the Sugar Kings at 7 p.m.
