City says to expect interruptions due to Canada Post strike

There will be interruptions in mail service to and from the City of Stratford as a result of the Canada Post strike.

If you are expecting payment from the city, your cheque will be processed and ready for pickup at the clerk’s office at city hall on Wednesdays until mail delivery resumes.

You can also sign up for electric funds transfers, the city said on Friday.

The city said it is also working on making Ontario Works cheques available at the social services office at 82 Erie St. For residents who pay property taxes by mail, you can pay via internet or in-person.

Parking tickets can be paid by phone with a credit card at 519-271-0250 ext. 5230 during business hours, or in person at the clerk’s office.
