GOHL: Warriors upend Kings for second straight win

Lucas Minard scored twice for the second game in a row to pace the Stratford Warriors to a 5-3 win over Komoka Kings on Friday night at the William Allman Memorial Arena.

Jack McGurn, Aaron Green and Dax Vader also scored for the Warriors, as they won their second straight GOHL game and improved to 2-1-1-0 and seventh place in the Western Conference.

Owen Miniotas, Jacon Vandeven and Nathanial Adams, shorthanded, scored for the Kings, who dropped to 3-2 and sit in sixth place.

Connor Davis had 25 saves for the Warriors. Brock Lane turned aside 32 pucks for the Kings.

Stratford host Hamilton Kilty B’s on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Also Friday, host Port Colborne Sailors shutout Listowel Cyclones 4-0.

Marcus Harris scored twice to lead the Sailors. Hunter Vilanez and Colton D’Amico also scored.

Listowel lost 5-4 on Saturday at home to the London Nationals.

Cooper McAslan had two goals for the Nationals. Cruz Ferguson, Raiden Doxtator and Max Mews also scored.

Dylan Szymanowski scored twice, including shorthanded to open the scoring for the Cyclones. Lyndon Cabral and Jack O’Donnell added powerplay goals for the Lincolns.

Also Saturday, Port Colborne edged St. Marys Lincolns 3-2 in overtime.

Ian Robinson scored twice for the Sailors, including the winner in the extra frame.

P.J. Alexander also scored.

David Heath and Ethan Weir scored for the Lincolns.
