‘Ghastly good fun’ sure to be had at Scaretacular St. Marys

It’s being billed as a ‘fang-tastic day’ with ‘spooky surprises’ and ‘ghastly good fun’.

The Town of St. Marys is hosting Scaretacular St. Marys Oct. 25, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Halloween essentials are on offer at St. Marys Farmers’ Market at the north end of Milt Dunnell Field, including pumpkins and apples.

A pet parade and costume contest are being held around the noon hour starting at town hall. Participants and pets will make their way down the sidewalk to Water Street and back to town hall. Treat bags and pet costume prizes will be given out.

St. Marys Museum is hosting a cemetery walking tour at St. Marys Cemetery at 2 p.m., featuring a history of St. Marys cemeteries, a cemetery walk and a tutorial on how to research your ancestors using cemetery resources.

Families are also welcome to dress up and participate in downtown trick-or-treating and  you can collect sweet treats from local shops from 10 a.m. until noon.

St. Marys Community Players will have a matinee performance of Hildas’ Yard at 2 p.m. at the Town Hall Auditorium.
