Section of Romeo Street to close for emergency training

If you see a lot of emergency personnel next week, don’t worry, it’s just a test.

The City of Stratford said the staged exercise is taking place on Romeo Street near the River Gardens Retirement Residence on Oct. 23.

Firefighters, paramedics, and police will be testing emergency response plans to be ready for an actual disaster.

The city said Romeo between Delamere Avenue and Devon Street will close from 8:45 a.m. until 11 am, and residents are asked to avoid that area if possible.

Romeo between McCarthy Road and Delamere Ave and Romeo between Ontario and Devon Streets will be open to local traffic only.
