Get to know your local library even more during Ontario Public Library Week

The Festival City is doing its part during a big week for libraries.

Stratford City Council has proclaimed Oct. 19–25 as Ontario Public Library Week in the city, honouring Stratford Public Library’s ‘ongoing commitment to literacy, education, and community wellbeing’.

It’s also Ontario Public Library Week across the province, an annual celebration.

The library has invited the community to join in the celebration of the essential role libraries play in fostering lifelong learning, building community, and supporting individuals at every stage of life.

This year’s theme is ‘Libraries for Life’, and locally will include a draw for a prize-filled SPL book bag, a scavenger hunt and social media fun online.

CEO of Stratford Public Library Krista Robinson said libraries serve as community hubs for lifelong learning and play a vital role in helping access people access information and tools they need to live, learn, and work.
