GOHL: Shootout loss after big win for Stratford Warriors

Stratford Hunter Steel Warriors lost 4-3 on the road to the St. Thomas Stars on Sunday.

The Stars scored twice in the third period to tie the game and connected on two shootout opportunities against just one for the visitors to secure the win.

Cole Edmundson, Wyatt Cameron and Myles Dunn scored in regulation for the Stars.

Grady Murphy, Evan Arnold and Max Wildfong scored for the Warriors.

On Saturday, Devun Colebrook opened the scoring shorthanded in the second period and that stood up as the winner in the St. Marys Lincolns 2-0 road win over Komoka Kings.

Jack Clarke added a third period marker for the Lincolns.

Vaughn Barr had 23 saves for the shutout.

Listowel scored three straight goals for a 3-2 win over the home ice Strathroy Rockets on Saturday. Jack O’Donnell, Aaron Dukeshire and Visneskie scored for the Cyclones.

Zander Kechego and Zachary LeBlanc scored for the Rockets.

On Friday night, the Warriors jumped out to a 4-0 first period lead and didn’t look back in a 7-1 home win over LaSalle.

Dominic Marshall and Arnold had two goals each for the Warriors, with Colin Slattery, Haden Frayne and Wildfong adding singles.

Ian Inskip had the lone goal for the Vipers.

Also Friday, host St. Marys edged St. Thomas 4-3 in a shootout.

Chase MacQueen-Spence had two power play goals for the Lincolns and James MacGregor also scored. Myles Dunn, Cade Kinnear and Tyran Lawsome scored for the Stars.

The Cyclones were edged 3-2 at home by Chatham Maroons.

O’Donnell scored twice. Trevor Zanutto, Kaden Sienko and Max Skinner scored for the Maroons.
