NHL legend Howie Morenz will be the topic of conversation tonight (Oct. 21) at the community hall at William Allman Memorial Arena.
Donald Murray, author of Howie Morenz: Hockey’s First Superstar, will discuss the life and legacy of one of the first stars of the NHL, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Morenz has deep Stratford and Perth County roots and his name graces Morenz Drive in Stratford.
He won three Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens in a prolific career.
Murray will share behind-the-scenes stories from his research, and reflect on how Morenz’s career shaped modern professional hockey.
