Mozart, Barber, Borodin, and Hindemith will all be played by our local orchestra.
Stratford Symphony Orchestra has announced Sitarski Plays Barber, a performance featuring Canadian violinist Stephen Sitarski set for Avondale United Church on Nov. 15.
They said the concert will see Sitarski play a 22-minute Samuel Barber Violin Concerto known for its melodies and finale.
Music Director and Conductor William Rowson said sharing the stage with Sitarski is a full circle moment.
“It’s going to be a special night,” said Rowson.
“When I first met Stephen Sitarski, I was a high school student playing section violin
in the Saskatoon Symphony. One week, Stephen was our guest soloist. After the concert, I was thrilled to chat with him about Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet. His generosity and respect for young musicians has stayed with me ever since.”
Tickets can be bought here, by calling the orchestra at 519-271-0990, or at the door on concert night.
The concert starts 7:30 p.m.
