GOHL: Mixed bag of weekend results for local junior B teams

Stratford Hunter Steel Warriors were edged on the road 3-2 by the Waterloo Siskins on Sunday.

The GOHL game went to a shootout after a scoreless overtime.

The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead through power play goals from Rhyse Brown and Lucas Minard.

Nolan Macey and Jacob Middleton replied for the Siskins.

Elsewhere in the GOHL Sunday, the visiting St. Thomas Stars erased a two goal deficit to double up the Listowel Cyclones 4-2.

Clark deBoer and Colton Henderson cancelled out Myles Dunn’s first period market for a 2-1 Cyclones lead.

Max Monnich tied the game while the Stars were shorthanded. Rory Savage scored the winner and Wyatt Cameron added an empty netter for the Stars.

On Saturday, the London Nationals edged the visiting St. Marys Lincolns 3-2.

Eddie Hickson scored the winner for the Nationals. Alexandre Campeau and Aiden McDonald added singles for the winners.

Blake Elzinga and Ryan Hodkinson scored for the Lincolns.

On Friday night, the Warriors edged the visiting Nationals 4-2.

Dominic Marshall, Lucas Minard, Max Wildfong and Quinn Kipfer, with an empty Nationals net, scored for the Warriors.

Austen Pomerleau and Cody Wood scored for the Nationals.

The Lincolns trailed 2-0 but then went on a goalscoring tear in their 10-2 win over the Strathroy Rockets, also on Friday night.

Owen Kalp scored three times and added three assists. Blake Elzinga, Ryan Hodkinson and Chase MacQueen-Spence each had two goals for the Lincolns. David Heath added a goal.

Elzinga added four assists for a six point night.

Zander Kechego and Jake Ritson scored for the Rockets.

The Cyclones won 4-3 in a shootout over the Siskins. Lyndon Cabral, Dylan Szymanowski and Trent Houghton scored in regulation for the Cyclones.

Logan Massimi scored twice, including shorthanded for the Siskins. David Bodzai also scored for the Siskins.
