Police remind the community to keep safety paramount this spooky season

OPP is reminding the public about Halloween safety this spooky season.
For drivers, they advise keeping an extra eye out for kids trick-or-treating, as they may be distracted.
For parents, they advise using face makeup instead of a mask, or ensuring that if they are wearing a mask, it has adequate eye and mouth holes.
They also say to ensure kids are buckled up if driving between neighborhoods and supervising young children, even if they’re in a group.
Police advise kids who are going out without a parent to stay in a group, and to tell parents their planned route.
They also suggest wearing reflective clothing and carrying a flashlight, and staying in familiar neighborhoods.
They advise never going into someone’s house to get a treat and not eating treats unless they’re inspected by an adult.
