New cookbook is a celebration of community, comfort, and creativity

Local recipes abound in a new cookbook.

United Way Perth-Huron has announced the launch of Abundance: Savouring the Flavours and Spirit of Huron County, set for release Nov. 9 at Brussels Four Wind Barn.

The cookbook is a celebration of community, comfort, and creativity, containing comfort food recipes from local chefs, stories from farmers, brewers, vintners, beekeepers and artwork from Huron County artists.

United Way Manager of Community Development Mid-Huron Michelle Millar said whether you’re a visitor or a local, the book is a love letter to the land and those nourishing it.

Profits from the book launch go directly to addressing food and housing security in Huron County.

The event includes live music, sampling of some of the featured recipes, a chance to meet producers from the cookbook and the chance to buy copies for $55.

Remaining copies will be in select locations in Huron or at the United Way offices in Stratford.

The book launch runs from noon to 2 p.m.
