Poetry in motion: Search on for new Youth Poet Laureate

Calling all youth poets.

Stratford Public Library and Destination Stratford are selecting a Youth Poet Laureate.

The program celebrates the voices of literary and spoken word artists who enrich the community through poetry.

Quinn Mayer was appointed as Stratford’s inaugural Youth Poet Laureate and is currently completing their one-year term.

The Youth Poet Laureate recognizes a young poet, aged 14–24, whose work reflects themes meaningful to Stratford-area youth.

They serve as an ambassador for poetry, language, and the arts, and encourage creative engagement with words and ideas.

The Youth Poet Laureate will be invited to present their work at local events and help foster a deeper appreciation for poetry and the arts in Stratford and area.

Candidates must complete the Poet Laureate program submission form at: splibrary.ca/poetlaureate

Submission entries close Nov. 30.
