No bones about it: Skeletons of Vivian Line has another successful year

A popular Halloween season fundraiser has raised big bucks again.

Skeletons of Vivian Line received $80,628 in donations. The total was half of that before a generous and anonymous donor matched the total.

It was the 12th year for the skeletons, who reside for 13 days leading up to Halloween on the front lawn at the home of Stratford resident Melissa McKerlie.

Donations are enough to help 335 children in need of life-changing surgery through Operation Smile Canada, an organization that performs surgeries for cleft lip and palette for children in developing countries.

Skeletons of Vivian Line has raised $282,000 over the past seven years.

McKerlie said she would not be able to create the displays without “amazing community support” and an “incredible team of volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.”
