Thousands of pounds of food was donated as part of the Stratford House of Blessing Christmas Food Drive.
Food bank volunteers collected much-needed items including canned vegetables, soup, peanut butter, and pasta sauce.
House of Blessing Resource Coordinator Aaron Balzer said they received a total of 7,075 pounds of food.
“It’s a huge amount of food,” said Balzer.
Customers donated at Zehrs, Food Basics, and No Frills over the weekend.
Zehrs received 3,154 pounds, Food Basics got 2,091 pounds, and No Frills collected 1,830 pounds.
Along with food, residents donated cash at the drive, where Balzer said that money was used to buy the needed items and support the stores.
He added that this amount will help families through the Christmas season.
