$200K goal, again, as Coldest Night of the Year fundraising gets underway

Shelterlink Youth Services hopes to raise a lot of money and awareness for Coldest Night Of the Year on the last day of February.

Executive Director Cate Trudeau said the goal is $200,000 for Shelterlink and the Stratford Connection Centre, which offers meals, showers, and laundry, and a warm place to stop-in, for locals experiencing/at risk of homelessness.

“Last year was quite a monumental event, we raised the most amount we have raised in past years. We had a goal of $200,000 and it was reached, and we want to reach it again this year,” said Trudeau.

She said they want to highlight that youth shelters play a big role in addressing homelessness during moments of crisis.

Sign-ins and registration starts at 4 p.m. at the Stratford Festival parking lot across from Tom Patterson Island.

The walk starts at 5 p.m.
