New manager of human resources for City of Stratford

Stratford Mayor Martin Ritsma announced this week that Maria Anayi has been hired as manager of human resources for the City of Stratford.

Ritsma said Anayi, who starts her role on Feb. 2, will continue to build out the HR team, a process that is already underway.

Anayi has extensive municipal and broader public-sector HR experience, with a focus on employee and labour relations, talent acquisition, and policy development.

The city continues to use the services of Ward & Uptigrove Human Resources Solutions.

CAO André Morin has recommended continuing to work with the firm for transitional support while a new iteration of the human-resources department is established.

A review of HR needs is complete, and the city is expected to also hire a human-resources coordinator in the near future.

Morin told MyStratordNow he would take the proper time to fully understand the needs of the team as a whole and a deliberate process is underway to ensure the proper resources are put in place to ensure those needs are properly met moving forward.
