House of Blessing seeking sponsorships for upcoming events

It’s never too early to start planning when you’re a not-for-profit organization.

Aaron Balzer, Resource Coordintor with Stratford House of Blessing, said the local food bank is looking for sponsors for two big events later this calendar year.

Ride for Refuge is scheduled for Oct. 3 and the Empty Bowls fundraiser is Nov. 6.

Balzer said sponsorship allows the food bank to keep more, or all, of the money they raise through important fundraisers throughout the year.

“We do get a lot of donations for events like Empty Bowls but we also have costs for the bowls, for example, and renting space.”

“Sponsors allow us to cover the costs so more money can go to keeping people fed.”

Balzer says Ride for Refuge raised $29,000 last year while Empty Bowls brought in $44,000. Those figures are minus expenses.

Sponsorships provide a chance to be part of “something highly visible, deeply meaningful, and truly community-driven,” the organization said.
