Start-ups launched in Perth County through Starter Company Plus

Stratford Perth Centre for Business has announced the launch of 19 new businesses across Perth County, with some located in Stratford and St. Marys.

This comes from the Starter Company Plus ‘Arts and Culture’ cohort, a program focused on giving start-ups a professional foundation to thrive and contribute to the region’s economy.

Stratford businesses include Hartman’s Coffee & Tea, the Boathouse, Stratford Art Services, mischief and wilde, and CuyuniCreates.

Perth Centre business advisor Holly Mortimer said in a medial release that the cohort highlights the creative talent in the area, where she hopes the entrepreneurs can turn their ideas into successful ventures.

The cohort is funded by the provincial government.

Perth Centre for Business said the entrepreneurs completed eight weeks of business planning training, where each graduate was awarded a $5,000 grant and personalized coaching from Jan. 12 to March 9.
