It is a way to give back to the community and help clean up a local watercourse.
The Boathouse will host its inaugural Avon riverbank cleanup April 18 at 10 a.m., in a partnership with realtor Shane Oosterhoff.
Kelan Herr, part of the family ownership team of the Boathouse, said they plan to get the community involved to keep the river clean.
“Everybody that comes in, we get a lot of locals, but we get a lot of people from outside of town, and they’re just taken by awe how beautiful our park system is,” Herr said.
“It’s something that we don’t want to take for granted and that we want to take care of.”
All participants will be broken into small groups to clean sections of the riverbank.
Herr added all cleanup supplies will be provided and anyone who participates will get a free tour and boat ride pass after the cleanup is finished.
