An upcoming concert will pay tribute to one of Stratford’s most iconic singers and pianists.
Looking for Richard Manuel will feature improvisational keyboardist Bob Wiseman perform at Stratford Perth Museum on May 8 at 7 p.m.
Museum officials said Wiseman is bringing stories and reflections on the late Manuel’s life and artistry.
According to AllMusic’s website, Manuel was most famous for being one of the three lead singers and pianist of The Band, a Toronto rock band known for combining elements of Americana, folk, rock, R&B, jazz and country.
Manuel joined the group in 1961, and was often seen as their lead singer.
The Band’s accomplishments include their debut album Music From Big Pink, induction to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and receiving a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Museum officials added Wiseman is best known for his work in Blue Rodeo, a rock band that according to Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, sold four million copies and won 11 JUNO awards.
All proceeds from the event will support the museum.
