Township left ‘disappointed’ after extensive damages to Morningdale Park

Significant repairs are needed to the turf at Morningdale Park after the driver of a pickup truck tore up the grounds.

Becky Westman, Perth East Manager of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, told MyStratfordNow the township was left ‘disappointed’ by the acts, and several staff members will need to repair and reseed.

The playground will have to be extensively cleaned after mud was splashed over equipment from spinning tires in muddy grass.

Westman said the cost of repairs is not yet known. There was also evidence of alcohol use left behind.

Westman said residents are reminded to respect community spaces and report any suspicious activity.

Police have been contacted.
