Public feedback will help build local health team’s next strategic plan

Engaging the public is a key part of building a new strategic plan for the Huron Perth & Area Ontario Health Team.

Marketing and Communications Lead Nicole Vlasman said the team has created a secure and easy to navigate online engagement platform to ask residents, patients, caregivers, and families to share what matters most about local health care.

“Often times things happen so fast and engagement is left behind. We want to flip that and make sure all voices are involved right off the hop,” Vlasman told MyStratfordNow.

Ontario Health Teams bring organizations together across different sectors including primary care, hospitals, community support services, mental health and addictions to improve how people experience local healthcare.

“We work behind the scenes…instead of operating in silos we bring ourselves together to figure out how to make the transitions easier…and just a better experience for all.”

Vlasman said the engagement platform allows the health team to gather feedback on what matters most before priorities are set and the strategic plan acts as a navigator for the team and its priorities.

Vlasman adds that they have received “great engagement” so far, and they hope to have the feedback process completed by May 6.
