Book lovers stocking their shelves through spring sale in St. Marys

Donations are continuing to roll in for the Spring Book Sale in St. Marys.

Hosted by the Friends of St. Marys Public Library (FOL), and running until Saturday, it offers donated books, DVDs and puzzles at the Lind Sportsplex.

The registered charity is a group of volunteers focused on supporting enhancements to the library.

Funds support special services in the library, according to book sale organizer and FOL member Reg Quinton.

“(Wednesday), we had over 400 people come, and we raised over $4,400, so I’m expecting that we will do very well,” said Quinton.

Quinton said fans of the written word are looking to stock their shelves.

“As long as they come and are friendly and donate accordingly, we’re quite happy to have them. We have never been in the business of saying you’re the right client, you’re not the right client, everybody is our client.”

He said you can buy a book/item through financial donations.

Non-perishable items can also be donated at the sale as part of the Library Pantry Drive.

The sale runs today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
