Stratford to go ‘Car-Free’ on Friday morning

Could you go without your car for one morning?

Downtown Stratford BIA encourages the community to do just that as part of Car-Free Friday, at Market Square.

The organization said the event from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. invites Stratfordians to use other forms of transportation including walking, cycling, rolling and public transit to promote healthier and sustainable ways of moving around the city.

BIA representatives said the goal is to celebrate the simple joy of getting around without a car.

The event is held in recognition of Bike Month and World Bicycle Day on June 3, which celebrates bicycles as an affordable and environmentally sustainable form of transportation.

At Market Square you can enjoy free fair-trade coffee, juice and prize giveaways.
