Importance of Being Earnest opens tonight at the Avon Theatre

The Stratford Festival season continues with the opening of a production set in Victorian-era England.

Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, featuring Fiona Reid, Marissa Orjalo, Joe Perry, Lucy Peacock, and Carter Gulseth, starts at the Avon Theatre at 8 p.m. tonight.

What starts as two men creating alter egos to escape social obligations and win the hearts of the women they love turns into a story filled with lies and absurd expectations.

The play is directed by Krista Jackson.

Tickets can be found at the Stratford Festival website.
