City announces cooling spaces as heat event sets in

It’s a hot start to the summer in Stratford.

A heat warning’s been issued for the area by Environment Canada, saying temperatures will be in the mid 30s until at least Saturday.

Today (Tuesday) is going to feel like 43 with the humidex.

The agency says there won’t be much relief from the heat either, with the evening and nighttime temperatures not expected to go below 20 degrees.

Officials are reminding you to protect yourself and others as extreme heat can affect everyone’s health.

In light of the heat, the City of Stratford says there are spaces available to help you cool off.

Those include the Rotary Complex and the Anne Hathaway Park splash pad between 9am and 9pm and the Stratford Public Library during its regular business hours.
