Overholt crosses the line in seventh place in 400M hurdles final

About a year after she started running again, Brooke Overholt found herself in the women’s 400M hurdles finals at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

Overholt, of St. Marys, crossed the finish line in seventh place over the weekend in a time of 56.10 seconds.

Fellow Canadian Savannah Sutherland finished in third place in a time of 54.16 seconds.

Jamaican Sanique Walker ran 54 seconds flat to win the race.

After winning the Canadian title in her specialty in June, Overholt told media she had to get through hard moments and learn how to run again, after surgery in April, 2025.

Canada finished with 62 medals, including 19 gold, to finish third in the medal standings at the games.
