Indigenous Arts Workshop series returns following positive reception

Three workshops about Indigenous art and culture are returning to the Festival City.

Earlier in the summer, Kaswentha Two Row Now held a three-part series teaching participants how to make dream catchers, bone chokers and paintings at the Falstaff Family Centre.

The organization said after receiving an enthusiastic response and strong interest from the community, they have decided to run workshops again in August and September.

The workshops will again be led by Christin Dennis, a Knowledge Carrier from Aamjiwnaang First Nation (Chippewas of Sarnia First Nation).

The dream catcher workshop is scheduled for Aug. 19, the bone choker Aug. 26, and the painting event on Sept. 2.

All three will take place at the centre’s gathering place from 6 to 9 p.m.

Advance registration is required, and participation is limited to 20 people per workshop.
