The teams are almost ready to roar on the Avon River.
Rotary Club of Stratford members joined Stratford Mayor Martin Ritsma at city hall this morning to raise the Stratford Rotary Dragon Boat Festival flag, symbolic of the final countdown for the annual races on Saturday.
Club officials say a dozen local teams are among 48 entries competing in Hong Kong-style races on the Avon River.
Event chair Robert Ritz said the festival creates community, supporting local charities, and makes a lasting difference.
Admission is free.
