Traditional and folk artists to perform at SSM Summer Encore

Stratford Summer Music (SSM) is saying goodbye to summer with a night of folk and traditional music.

SSM is hosting an Encore fundraiser concert, scheduled to run tonight (Sept. 17) at the Stratford Perth Museum’s players backstage area.

Officials say the show will be headlined by Celtic band The Bookends, who will be joined by Canadian fiddler Shane Cook and local folk group York Street Thought Process.

SSM executive director Chris Lamont told MyStratfordNow the concert aims to raise funds to support Stratford Summer Music’s general operations.

He added that the event is part of their efforts to expand SSM’s presence beyond the summer season.

Officials add depending on the weather, the show might move indoors to the Avondale.

Tickets can be bought at the museum’s website.

Show is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
