House of Blessing to replenish and refill foodbank with Thanksgiving Food Drive

Stratford House of Blessing is looking to the community to help make sure local families are fed as fall approaches.

The organization is hosting their Thanksgiving Food Drive on Sept. 26, where volunteers and staff collect much-needed items from No Frills, FoodBasics and Zehrs.

Resource coordinator Aaron Balzer said the proceeds will go towards filling up their food bank.

He said because the fall and winter is their busiest time of the year, this fundraiser gives them the chance to replenish and refill.

He told MyStratfordNow they need volunteers at the event.

“We would love if there’s high school students looking to get some volunteer hours, or families. It’s a great opportunity for parents and kids to come out and do some volunteering together,” said Balzer.

The food drive is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteer registration can be found at the House of Blessing Website.
