OPP Auxiliary holding Operation FULL PLATE on Saturday

A one-day food drive supporting local food banks and helping address food insecurity across the province is coming up this weekend.

Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary members are holding Operation FULL PLATE on Saturday, Oct. 3.

In Perth County,  non-perishable food items and other essential goods are being accepted at McDonald’s Independent Grocer in Mitchell.

“Every donation, no matter the size, can make a difference,” states a release. “Together, we can help stock local food banks, support those experiencing food insecurity and strengthen our communities.”

Officials say serving communities has been at the heart of the OPP Auxiliary Program for more than 65 years, and this initiative builds on that tradition of service.

In Huron County, hosts include Zehrs Grocer in Goderich from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and Hansens Independent Grocer in Exeter during the same hours.
