Rotary Club of Stratford has raised more than $300K through Scotch Mist

Every toast, shared story and bid at the auction supports projects that change lives.

So goes the description of the Scotch Mist fundraiser from committee chair Rob Russell.

The annual event has raked in $300,000 for Rotary Club of Stratford.

The 19th edition is slated for Oct. 17 at the Best Western Arden Park Hotel.

Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth, Aquabox and Stratford Respite House are among the beneficiaries.

Russell says the event, “brings together tradition, community, and generosity in the most remarkable way.”

‘Unique’ single malt whiskies are paired with Scottish and new world foods.

Pairings on offer include a $600/bottle, 25-year-old Scotch paired with a Rhéo Thompson Candies chocolate flight. Whiskies from Scottish distilleries include Arran, Glendalough, The Dalmore and Glen Keith while Canadian distillery Macaloney’s Harvest Coast is also featured.

On the culinary side, there is Scotch egg croquette, Scottish Whiskey beet & greens salad and slow-braised highland beef short rib.

Auctions of rare and special scotches occur throughout the evening.
