An Espanola resident’s driver’s license was suspended for seven days after going through a RIDE program in Perth East.
Perth County OPP say the 23-year-old blew a stop sign before entering the program at Perth Line 36 and Road 122 shortly before 2 a.m. on Oct. 8. Officers observed cannabis readily available to the driver.
Police suspected alcohol consumption and the driver was found to be in the ‘warn range’.
He was charged with drive vehicle with cannabis readily available, under the Cannabis Control Act.
In addition to a $215 fine, police say the accused will incur costs for licence reinstatement and the “inconvenience” of coordinating pickup and transport of his vehicle.
