Stratford’s Stewart Reynolds, AKA Brittlestar, will help families get the food they need ahead of winter.
The comedian is set to emcee Stratford House of Blessing’s Empty Bowls fundraiser Nov. 6.
Proceeds go towards the food bank and essential programs. It will include food, live music and a silent auction.
Reynolds said he is taking part to help respond to the growing community need.
“One in 12 people in the community are accessing the food bank, which is wild to think about, so it’s important for us to able to help support the community and to do what we can to make sure life gets a little bit better for everybody in Stratford and area.”
Amongst his duties are helping to auction off bowls painted by local artists.
Reynolds hopes they can beat last year’s goal of $44,000. Tickets are $35 for adults and $30 for kids between ages four and 12.
