Leslie Joseph Gornyiczki, age 92, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday January 21, 2014.
Born in Czechoslovakia, son of the late Mike and Julia (Blasko) Gornyiczki. Les owned and operated L. J. Gornyiczki Ltd. Plumbing and Heating in Stratford for 40 years. He was a member of St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree member of Justice J.M. King Assembly and past member of numerous organizations over the years. Les was a kind hearted, caring gentleman who always enjoyed visiting with friends and most importantly spending time with family.
Beloved husband of 57 years to the late Mary (Visosky) Gornyiczki, who predeceased him on March 27, 2002. Loving father of Theresa and husband Dr. Larry Oehm, Innisfil and their sons Ryan (Edurne), Kyle (Jennifer) and Marc (Jessica); Leslie and husband Douglas McArthur, Stratford and their son Trevor and daughter Alison and husband Lee Avigdor; Michael J. Gornyiczki and wife Nancy, Stratford and their daughter Holly and husband Mark McKay and son Rob Faulhafer and wife Erin; Steven Gornyiczki, Woodstock and his daughter Leah. Proud great grandfather of Myles and Adelaide Avigdor, Kaleb and Kaelyn Oehm, Mitchell, Mason and Marshall McKay and Avery, Chase and Cameron Faulhafer. Also survived by dear brother Mike Gornyiczki and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Besides his parents and wife Mary, he was predeceased by an infant daughter, sisters; Helen Majer, Julia and husband Jim Papai and Mary Haywood and great granddaughter Madison McKay.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at the W. G. Young Funeral Home – RECEPTION CENTRE, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Sunday January 26th from 1-3 p.m.
