A part of the 401 has been shut down as police investigate a number of accidents.

The Oxford County OPP says the highway eastbound has been closed at the 401 and 403 split.

Traffic is being rerouted onto the 403.

The 401 eastbound will be closed from the 403 to Cedar Creek. 

The police will release more information as it becomes available.

They are reminding drivers to adjust their driving to the road and weather conditions.
